Behind The Scenes: Part 1

3D scenes (Cinema 4D)
Behind the Scenes
Cut/Deleted Material

INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT (2010)

First two images:
When creating my first full 3D scene of the Industrial District, I originally had
the idea of the background being mountains. Later that was cut.
I also had the idea of a 3D background of a city skyline, but that idea was cut too.
Some of that idea can be seen to the right of the first image.

The second and the last image:
Another idea that was cut was to have a undead man looking through one of
the building windows (the building at the very front of the 3D scene),
but that was cut because the man could not be seen very clearly.
He can be seen near the truck in the second image.

CITY 1 (Late 2010/Early 2011)

During the early stages of my first city 3D scene, I wanted another type
of emergency vehicle other than the police car. Unable to find an ambulance
vehicle model from the website where I normally get vehicle models,
I decided to create one by modifying the bus model I had.
The Ambulance stayed up until the last minute when I decided to cut it.
The reason for this being it was too big and in the end I cut it in favor of
making a smaller one in the future.
There was also an idea of adding a firetruck to the 3D scene,
but that idea was cut when I could not find a vehicle model for that either.
The firetruck idea came back later and was executed in the next City 3D scene.

While most of the traffic signs above were used this city 3D scene and the next,
the traffic light that shines yellow was cut from this 3D scene.
The reason being that two traffic lights (one shining green
and the other red) were enough to show the city.

CITY 2 (Late 2011/Early 2012)

This bike (uploaded and later to be edited) was to be used as part
of an Easter egg later in my second city 3D scene.
It was to be a reference to Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX 2
video game. A game I enjoyed playing when I was younger.
The bike would of been located in a small area with sidewalks
and concrete ramps. The idea was scrapped and a grassy area with
trees was put in that area instead.
The reason was that it would of taken away from the mix of
concrete and greenery of the city.

MALL (2012)

During the early stages of the mall 3D scene, the mall grew in size.
Later in the animation all the extra area was cut and I chose only to do
a small area of the mall instead. The reason for this was I wanted to do a
small 3D scene and take a break after doing two large
3D scenes (the cities).
The bigger mall would of had a toy store where the bike cut from the
previous 3D scene would of been placed inside on display.
Other stores like a book store, a clothing store, and a jewelry place
were cut in the final. The food court was also cut and would of had
a deli, pizza, coffee, ice cream, and burger place.

ASIAN TEMPLE AND GARDENS (2012)

During the mid stages of development into the Asian temple and gardens
3D scene, there was a plan to have Asian style apartments located
off the road to the left side of the 3D scene.
The idea was cut later when I wanted the temple and gardens to be
located in a more rural area and not next to a city as originally planned.

OTHER (VEHICLES)

Around the time of late 2011, I began a 3D scene with a large garage
housing Hummers modified to look like military ones. I later lost interest in the
idea and the whole 3D scene was cut. It would of been the first indoor
3D scene.
The garage was later repurposed as a firetruck garage (smaller in size)
for the second city 3D scene.
